This hotel is not for the traditional hotel chain customer. It
is somewhat eccentric, with a mock medieval style to the rooms,
many of which are accessed from the exterior of the hotel, motel
style. The dining room has a window on to a small farmyard pen with
sheep, goats and hens. These though are not available for
consumption.
The rooms are very comfortable and well furnished with antique
style furniture; the beds however are modern hotel standard.
The dining room is excellent if expensive. The Cote de Veau could
have fed a small family. The crispy rabbit was very good. Wine list
is also dominated by top end wines and therefore quite
expensive.
Breakfast was good although we had to seek out a member of staff to
serve. From then on though he was quite attentive with coffee
refills etc.
The location is very quiet; although the hotel is very close to the
main road the village there is very little traffic.
